School's... Out... For... Summer!!!
While we are anxious to kick up our feet with an ice cold Diet Coke and soak in the sunshine rays... we also have work to do and fun to have. This summer a few bloggy friends are going to read, discuss and create the DAILY 5. We would love to have many participate and share their expertise and ideas. Anyone want to jump on our bus? Let us know with a quick comment if you already do the Daily 5 in your classroom or like us... want to learn. I use the D5 ans Cafe in my second grade classroom-this was my first year. I LOVE it and would love to join in your book club-I am also teaching a few classes on the D5 to my peers at summer's end so I would love to hear everyone's thoughts!
I've been doing the Daily 5 for a while and it will be nice to see and read about new and fresh ideas.

Oceans of First Grade Fun
I love Daily five too! I use it with kindergarten and think it is the very best way to structure reading workshop in a classroom. I think the CAFE book is so important too. The CAFE board really helps to structure lessons before students go into the Daily 5. I think both books are amazing!! I look forward to this discussion!! Melissa
I have taught Daily 5 for 4 years now and love it...there is no other way to teach now for me.

I'm starting D5 and CAFE in my first grade classroom next year and am REALLY REALLY nervous about it. Any ideas and help from others would be greatly appreciated! I'm excited about a change from centers, but feel very unprepared for the change.

I am so in. I'll be a first-year teacher next year -- in second grade, no less -- and definitely want to do Daily 5/CAFE. I already had purchased the books to read myself (everything else I've learned has been through teacher blogs), so this is perfect for me!

I'm in!! Have been to see "The Sisters" several years ago and did D5, but after an administrative change (with micromanagement), stopped doing it. Anxious to get a refresher course and new ideas!!
I keep hearing about the Daily 5, but am not sure what it really entails. I'm also moving up from Kindergarten to 1st grade this year, so I'm definitely interested in reading these books and learning what it's all about!

I am definitely in! I am moving from 4th to 2nd grade this upcoming year and I bought both books a few weeks ago. I have finished the D5 and I am in the middle of CAFE. No one in my school does the D5 so I am on my own. Would love to hear all of the ideas!

I would like to implement Daily5/CAFE during the 2012-13 school year. I have been reading Daily 5, and I'm anxious to find out how other teachers use it already.
